  • Individual class size varies from six to twenty-six people to ensure quality training with more one-on-one instruction. Due to different class sizes early registration is recommended to ensure availability in the proper class for you.

PMP Training Program Syllabus

  • This program meets PMI training requirements for PMP® exam preparation. Five nine-hour class sessions meet daily "during scheduled class dates" at our Michigan training center, conveniently located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

  • Introduction to PMP Certification; Project Management Framework
    Applying for the PMP exam. Study skills and strategies. Overview of project management processes and knowledge areas. Project management life cycle management.

  • Project Integration Management
    Project charter, preliminary scope statement, ROM rough order of magnitude estimate, change control and more.

  • Project Scope Management
    Identifying and managing stakeholders, gathering requirements, scope definition, project charter, work breakdown structure, scope planning, controlling scope changes; preventing scope creep and more.

  • Project Time Management
    Activity definition, duration estimating, scheduling, project network diagrams, critical path method, resource leveling, duration compression techniques and more.

  • Project Cost Management
    Resource requirements, cost estimating, budgeting, EVM Earned Value Management, project accounting and forecasting, cost control and more.

  • Project Quality Management
    Quality planning; quality assurance; quality control. The costs of quality. Statistical process control; root-cause analysis. Six Sigma Management.

  • Mid-Course Review
    Tips, tricks, strategies for taking the PMP® certification exam plus a comprehensive review of the previous topics.

  • Project Human Resource Management
    Staff planning, building and developing project teams, roles and powers of the project manager, management techniques, motivation theory, conflict resolution and more.

  • Project Communications Management
    Communication model and methods, filtering and other barriers, listening effectively, managing conflict constructively, the project manager as lead communicator.

  • Project Risk Management
    Risk planning, risk identification and assessment, risk control.

  • Project Procurement Management
    Planning for purchases, bidding, negotiating and administering contracts.

  • Professional Responsibility
    Balancing stakeholder interests, reconciling cultural difference, business ethics, legal requirements, PMI Professional Code of Conduct.

  • Final PMP Exam review
    Tips, tricks, strategies for taking the PMP certification exam plus a comprehensive final review.

  • Networking and Follow-up - Networking with other PMP's is important, therefore keeping in contact until you have passed the test is an option. You will have access to the Professional PMP Trainer even after you have taken the class. In the event that life gets in the way and you do not get to take the test on the scheduled date we are still here to help you prepare for the test. You will have access to the trainer for one-on-one sessions if that is what is needed.
