Project Charter Development
Purpose: This process is primarily concerned with authorizing the project or project phase. It is necessary for documenting the business needs and the new product, services, or other result that is intended to satisfy those requirements. The project charter is completed and assigned by someone external to the project with adequate authority.
The charter provides the project manager with the authority to provide organizational resources to project activities. Assign as early on in the project as possible for better chance of success.
